In the article, "Should Everyone Get a Trophy?" by Lauren Tarshis, she talked about how kids get a trophy just for showing up to team practices. Our school system decided more than a decade ago to pass kids on to the next grade regardless of how successful they were on their report card.
Do you think kids should fail?

I think that kids should be held back. This generation cares more about sports and video games than their own education. If you care enough about their education, then get them to study or do extra work.

If you keep letting children pass grade after with horrible marks your destroying their future! You’re letting someone pass every year, you’re not helping, you are doing the exact opposite. They won’t try at all just keep doing the same thing every year and every year they get worse, not better. Just like the saying ‘ Some people dream of success while other wake up and work for it ‘. If you fail them they’ll feel embarrassed and try to bump up their work.

Nobody wants to hire a brainless person. You at least want to hire someone who can count money. What if they can’t do anything? Would you hire them for the job? Nobody wants their child to be homeless or working minimum wage at a gas station, if you don’t do anything about it, that might be your child on the street begging for money and food.
People who think we shouldn’t hold them back say, “ It will ruin their social skills”. That isn’t true, you will still have friends and social skills. Your peers will just be learning and doing different things than you are. It is not a bad thing to stay behind. Instead of going ahead and not having a clue on what to do, you’ll stay behind and get a better understanding.

That is why I think kids should be able to get held back. If they continue without to barely understand the work given to them without a learning disability, they might not have the brightest future. You don’t want you child to be middle-aged and getting the worse job with minimum wage. You want them to have an amazing job, doing something they love and are getting paid decently. So children should be able to get held back.
